The Lagrein Riserva “Gries” produced by Cantina Terlano comes from a selection of the best clusters from the estate's most suitable plots. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures. It matures for 12 months, 30% in barriques and 70% in large barrels, and then completes the aging period with 3 months in the bottle. The Lagrein displays a very dark garnet red color, almost impenetrable. The bouquet offers aromas of ripe red fruit, underbrush scents, soft oriental spices, roasting, and bitter cocoa. The sip is rich and broad, with dense tannins well integrated with dense and full-bodied fruity aromas. The finish is long and balanced. It is a wine of great elegance and complexity, perfect for accompanying red meat dishes, game, and aged cheeses.
