De Piedirosso van de Vesuvius 'VIPT' van Cantine Olivella is een Campania rode wijn gemaakt van Piedirosso van de oudste wijnstokken van het bedrijf. Zacht, intens en rijk aan de mond, wordt de slok ondersteund door fluweelachtige tannines en een lange, omhullende afdronk, terwijl de neus wordt vergezeld door tonen van bosvruchten en pruimen, samen met zachte peperachtige en kruidige nuances. The Piedirosso del Vesuvio “VIPT”, produced by Cantine Olivella, is a fragrant and pleasantly fruity red that transparently expresses the typical varietal characteristics of the grape. It is an artisanal wine, made simply. The vinification in steel preserves the primary aromas of the grape, highlighting a ripe and rich fruit, pleasant and satisfying. It is a modern and very versatile red that pairs well with white meats, first courses with meat sauce, and noble poultry. Excellent to taste even in summer slightly chilled, at a temperature of 14 °C.

“VIPT” Piedirosso del Vesuvio is born in one of the estates most committed to enhancing the Vesuvius territory. Cantine Olivella can rely on the experience of four generations of winemakers and today cultivates about 12 hectares of vineyards near Sant’Anastasia, on the northeast slope of Monte Somma. The climate is typically Mediterranean, mild and breezy, and the soils are mainly composed of ancient volcanic sands.volcanic origin. In these particular pedoclimatic conditions, the indigenous grape varieties of the area express themselves at high qualitative levels, producing wines that are genuine and authentic. The Piedirosso grapes are cultivated with great care and attention. The harvest takes place at full ripeness and the best selected bunches in the vineyard are sent for fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks, with a skin maceration for 10 days. Before proceeding to bottling, the wine ages for 10 months in steel tanks.

The Piedirosso del Vesuvio "VIPT" by Cantine Olivella is a splendid version of this ancient indigenous grape variety, which in recent years has won over many enthusiasts in search of elegant reds that are not too powerful and structured. With a beautiful lively ruby red color with slight purple reflections, it reveals floral aromas, notes of red currant, raspberry, wild strawberries, ripe cherry, red-fleshed plum, delicate spicy sensations, and aromatic herbs from the Mediterranean scrub. Medium-bodied and characterized by a light and subtle tannic texture, presents fruity aromas juicy and crunchy on the palate. The finish is very fresh, persistent, and savory.
